Meet the team
The Metronomes extended family is made up of people from all over the world – over 2000 of them live across North Kensington and the surrounding areas. Each summer over 100 steelpan players and supporters join us at our rehearsal space, the panyard, for the Panorama season.
Meet the team of volunteers and band members that keep it all running smoothly.
Irvin Corridan
Co-founder and Chairperson
In 1973, Irvin, along with Phil Dubique, founded Metronomes Steel Orchestra. Irvin still plays a pivotal role within the band.
Eversley Mills
Band Manager and Secretary
Metronomes is currently managed by Eversley ‘Breeze’ Mills – also Vice Chairman of the British Association of Steelbands.
Vivian Miller
Captain and Musical Director
Vivian Miller currently captains the band, as well as arranging the stageside’s repertoire. Vivian has injected a new vibrancy into the band and is constantly pushing players to extend their musical knowledge.
Heather Joseph
Treasurer
Heather is a senior member with over 20 years experience playing with Metronomes. Heather is the band’s treasurer.
MArva Spencer
Head of Admin
Marva has been a part of Metronomes for over 15 years and plays tenor in the stageside. Marva manages the administration for the band.
Nana Ama Astra
Head of Digital Team
Nana has been playing with the band for over 10 years and plays cellos in the stageside. Nana manages the band’s digital presence, alongside her team.
Nadine Nyapadi
Head of Marketing and Publicity
Nadine is a senior member and has been with Metronomes since 2001. As well as playing for stageside, Nadine manages the band’s publicity and marketing campaigns.
Maxine Braithwaite
Merchandising
Maxine supports players each year with the distribution of merchandise to the band and supporters.
Sianline Crawford
Merchandising
Each summer Sianline helps with the distribution of merchandise to the band and supporters.
